Volume 2: December 4th, 2009 In This Issue Happy Holidays! I want to wish you and your family a very happy holiday season. I'm not a big fan of the cold, but I love the coziness of winter and looking at all of the winter window displays and lights. And lets hope for at least one all-out work stopping blizzard. It's been a couple of years since we've had a good one like that. On a related note, if you're looking for some unique holiday gifts, make sure to check out the holiday markets in Union Square and the Young Designer's Market on Mulberry between Prince and Houston. The latter is a great place to get wonderful and affordable jewelry and women's clothing. 20% Holiday Discount 16 Days Remaining! Just a reminder for anyone that wants to take advantage of the 20% holiday discount, there are 16 days remaining to make your purchase. If you plan on giving a print as a holiday gift, make sure to get the order in early as well. I will do my best to rush orders as we get closer to the holidays, but it will be better for both of us if you place the order sooner rather than later. Photo Blog Favorites from November In case you havn't been following the blog (and I can't imagine why you wouldn't be!) here are some highlights from the last month. There have been articles and photos from the south side of Ellis Island, the Ansonia, many fall in Central Park photos, the old Atlantic Avenue Subway Tunnel, The Ticker Tape Parade, the Macy's Thanksgiving balloon blow up, many street photos, and much more. This month will hopefully feature lots of snow images! Articles History of New York Photography: Documenting the Social Scene If you are interested, please make sure to check out the first of my History of New York Photography series. This one is entitled Documenting the Social Scene, and is about documentary photography in New York from the 1890s until the 1940s. There are so many powerful photos. Articles Creating a Black and White Photograph from a Color Negative And finally, if you happen to be a Photoshop fan, I recently wrote an article about Advanced Black and White Techniques in Photoshop.
