Purple Wedding, Vintage Photograph

http://www.jamesmaherphotography.com/images/0000/0785/vintage_wedding.jpg

This is an old wedding photo I found of one of my relatives, taken probably around 1960.  Such a gorgeous photo and spectacular dresses.  My mother is the young girl on the left.

Jimmy, that's your cousin Barbara. She died in a car accident when you were very young. Her sister Patty is behind the mirror. Their mother Julia is still alive, celebrating her 100th birthday this May. She still enjoys visiting her great-grandchildren in Virginia and Texas and an occasional weekend in Atlantic City. I hope we inherited her genes!

Gorgeous! Makes me re-think my wedding style choices.

I overheard your grandmother once commented the Barbara was "a bit of a beat" when she bought a red coat (the coat was exchanged for a more sedate navy blue one). I'm glad that Barbara stuck to her guns on the purple dresses though.

Yeah Grandma had a very sharp tongue sometimes!
