Bethesda Fountain in Fall, Central Park

The tough thing about photography is that the busier you get, the less time you have to actually take photographs.  I've been trying to get to Central Park to take some fall photos for the last two weeks, and finally went yesterday.  The colors would have been better a week ago, but there was still some really good stuff.

It's also really tough to create prints out of these.  Intense color and nature can be a pain to work with.  Do you push the colors and contrast and risk a bit of the photographic quality for a more painterly feel? If you do, how far do you go?

I think I found a good fine line here, pushed the colors but tried not to have too much of a heavy hand.  It's tough to tell the first time around.

Aah, that's a beautiful photo. Love the balance of colours. Just been to Yorkshire and saw some amazing autumn colours, looking at the photos they look unreal, I don't know whether to tone them down!

Yeah it's really tough to toe that fine line of realism when it comes to really colorful photographs. I tend to push things more than others and to go for a more painterly feel, but I try hard to not go too far with it.
