Vintage Friday - Teller

http://www.jamesmaherphotography.com/images/0000/2865/teller_vintage_photography_new_york.jpg

We're back to our regularly scheduled Vintage Fridays.  Above is another photo of my grandfather.

I struggle sometimes with whether to turn these shots into pure black and whites or to keep the aged color of them.  It really depends on the shot and I often change them into pure black and white, but some just look much better like this.

Also, I just found another few boxes of these old photos that were put away and forgotten about.  Should have some more great ones coming as soon as there's time to go through them.

I like this photo. I guess the age has something to do with it. Also, imagine trying to take a photo inside a bank today, it'd be hard! More than anything though, who took this photo, & why? Intriguing. Maybe he's proud to be picking up a heap of overtime pay or something? I'm young enough to remember seeing a teller for everything bank related. Doesnt happen much anymore though (ATMS).

Yes, I've just come back with the same thought - I wonder why he had his photo taken...

Yeah I wonder why as well KC, Lucy. I'm assuming that my grandmother took this photo as she liked to take candid shots like this. My grandfather was also an antique dealer, so perhaps he sold something of some value and she was proud of him.
