Opulence, 5th Avenue

1/250th at F4.5, ISO 3200 (55mm).

Back to work.  I hope you all had a wonderful and restful holidays.

Looking back on last year's photographic resolutions, I probably failed at every single one of them, which is not very surprising.  I had overly optimistic ambitions for this blog and for what I was capable in a single year, particularly with a wedding on the horizon.

This year I think I've learned my lesson, and my photographic resolutions are much more focused.

I want to spend more time on the streets.  I want to be more focused with my shooting, not just doing haphazard street photography as I walk from place to place.  I want to narrow my scope, take on some more specific street photography themes, and create some thoughtful, narrow groups of street photos that each play off each other.  It's not just enough to walk out that front door with a camera and take what comes to you.

I'd like to write about some other goals that I have for the year as well, but I'm going to hold off and keep it simple.  Above is what is most important for the year.
