Punk Rock, East Village

http://www.jamesmaherphotography.com/images/0000/3561/punk_rock_east_village.jpg

1/250th at F2, ISO 3200 (35mm) - Fuji X100.

I've been putting up a lot more color street photography than usual.  Just noticed this fact a few days ago... like the last two weeks on the blog have been all color.  Possibly cause I've been shooting more at night. Have some black and whites I want to show I think, but I'm happy continuing this color kick for awhile longer.

Followed this guy for a number of blocks trying to get a good shot.  Sometimes I feel like a stalker.

The more I look at it the more I see. The reflections in the puddles and the studs on the belt. The sharp focus on the one side of the umbrella that seems to fade towards the mist in the lights on the other side. Reminds me of another great umbrella shot of yours...

I really like this and agree with Karen. But I'm glad you told me it was a guy...!

Ha, not 100% sure myself to be honest Bibi. going further with what you said Karen, I like that the background of the photo is balanced with all of the different dots of color and that green umbrella. And then you have the main figure surrounded by two streams of light, one in red from the restaurants lights and one in green from the street light. This photo ended up really balanced with the red and green lighting.
