Athens Protest, Greece, New York, by James Maher Photography

The "New Order" focuses on the changes that have been occurring during the economic downturn that began in 2007/2008.  It focuses on the issues of the struggling poor and wealthy elite, the changing neighborhoods and societies, advertising and conformity, and on youth and the digital revolution.

This is a work in progress.

The above shot was taken from the empty lobby restaurant of the Hotel Grande Betagne, the nicest hotel in Athens of the silhouettes of economic protestors in Syntagma Square.

For me, this image portrays the curtains and shades that many of the wealthy elite see the world through.  The shadows of poor are always there, lurking in the shadows, but can always be shut out by the curtains.  Until they can't

There is a feeling of fear in this image, but also a feeling of safety brought on by the curtains and shades.
