Dog Gumbo,
Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans, 2005
Crudely made signs were put up throughout New Orleans by ordinary people on boarded up windows or storefronts, refrigerators left on the street, or anywhere that could hold a message. Most of these messages were either humorous or inspirational and many were political. But they all had one thing in common; they reflected the fighting spirit of the residents of New Orleans.
This portfolio of images shows many of these signs.
