Lamppost at Dusk,
Central Park, New York City, 2008
Sara loves lampposts (as do I, although not to the same extent). So lately I've been more tuned in to shooting them and have come away with some great prints.
Its remarkable to me how much is going on in this photo since it is such a tight shot of the lamp head. The light mixed with the black background brings out the streaks of rain on the left and also helps to sidelight the edges of the foreground branch on the right, which almost looks like it's popping out of the print. And the out-of-focus background of the building and snow-lined trees help to better place the photo in the context of central park.
I'm pretty sure this is her favorite print.
