Surprisingly enough this photo shows the sun and not moon. It was taken in full daylight at around 1pm. 

I stopped down real dark to f/22 at 1/800th of a second to create the feeling that the photo was taken at night and the clouds also helped to diffuse the strength of the sun's rays.  I then cooled the photo down a bit to bring out the night blues in the photo.

I didn't notice until after I took this, but I like how the clouds on the right half of the photo are warmer than on the left.  It really adds an interesting layer of balance here.
