Financial District,
Manhattan South, New York City, 2003
This photo was taken from the Brooklyn Bridge overlooking the financial district.
I chose to add a gold tint to the print to give it the feel of wealth and opportunity that people often think of when they see the financial district (although not so much recently - I did this before the recession).
I think it reflects the opulence of the city and the reasons why many people choose to move here and work in these fields.
However, it also reflects the short-sighted greed that caused some of these people to take on way too much risk when they thought there was easy money to be made. In good times this is an inspiring photo, but in bad times it can be a greedy one.
