Manarola Sunset #1,
Cinque Terre, Italy, 2005
This is the first of three identically composed shots taken over the course of the sun setting in Manarola, one of the five coastal towns in Cinque Terre.
The cliffside houses in these towns are painted in a diverse range of pastels. They are colors that have been subdued and weathered over time by the warm coastal winds.
It is interesting to see how the colors of these houses react and transform to the change in the colors of the sunset, along with the ocean, rocks and sky.
So I sat here for about 3 windy hours with a book, and at one point was even mooned by the female sunbather below.
